The Paint registry is a kind of a hybred. For a horse to be registered as an American Paint
horse it must be of either Quarterhorse, Thoroughbred, or American Paint bloodlines and have
the coloring of a Pinto were large areas of white are mixed with some other color. All Paints can
be registered as Pintos but not all Pintos can be registered as Paints.
